3.2 x 10 (1/8") Aluminium Standard Dome Head Rivets
Product Details
Rivets are excellent and quicker in fastening components together than using a threaded fastener, however rivets of this type do not have a good tensile strength so more will be needed to be used compared to threaded fasteners.
Once compressed using a manual, battery or air riveting tool available seperatly to order, the rivet will be secured into place once compressed within the parameters of the thickness of the component it is being secured onto so choosing the length and diameter of the rivet is applicable for its use.
The rivet bodies are made from steel, aluminium which is softer to compress or stainless steel with a similar choice in the mandrel material. The head sizes can vary from countersunk, standard dome head, large head or extra-large head. The variations also include standard rivets, multi-grip rivets, sealed rivets, splayed rivets, peel rivets or even grooved rivets. Also available are structural rivets such a monobolts for those tougher jobs requiring more strength when securing components together,
Steel rivets are usually bright zinc plated to prevent corrosion, stainless steel will vary from A2 to A4 materials or there are aluminium ones which are lighter and easier to compress. It’s worth being aware that mixing different material can potentially cause fusion between the component and the nut inserts, so choosing the correct rivet nut to match the application and the fasteners being used must be considered.
